Haifa Wahbe has filed a lawsuit against Lebanese singer Rola Saed and
journalist Nidal Al Ahmadi, editor in chief of the Al Jaras magazine,
for publicly insulting her and attempting to ruin her image. Haifa
stated that she is a victim and is optimistic that the court will rule
in her favor against Rola and Nidal.
Haifa had filed the lawsuit after Nidal and Rola had badmouthed her and
claimed that she created a porn film of herself, which has been
circulating via Bluetooth across the Arab world.
A court session took place at the Lebanese Supreme Court and Haifa
appeared in court wearing a conservative black suit surrounded by five
body guards. The session lasted for three hours without reaching any
verdict and a new court date has been set for June 11.

On a different note, Wahbi
was able to make the list of the 100 most influential figures in the
Arab world. The list, which consists of business people, politicians and
other VIPs in the Arab world ranked Haifa in the 53rd spot.
The list is created by the Arab company Arabian, which specializes in
different business matters. Haifa was considered as a person who has
influenced the Arab and Western worlds, regardless of what many critics
may think with regards to her singing talent.
The singer was able to obtain a large and fast growing popularity
worldwide through her music and her duties as an active Ambassador to
human rights and child protection.
